OK, I get that everyone thinks that Rob Blagojevich is a scum bag. For that matter, I think Blagojevich is pretty much a scum bag. But the Senate is wasting everyone's time blocking Roland Burris from being seated as the junior US Senator from Illinois. Because like it or not, the Scumbag is still the suly elected and seat governor of Illinois, and it is long established doctrine that Congress has sceded power to appoint seats left open by death or resignation as the state see's fit, and in Illinois that is still by Gubernatorial appointment. In fact, Powell v. McCormack, 395 US 486 (1969), says that a legally appointed representative or senator has to be seated. So quit whining about a missing seal by whoever, seat the man, and get on to something important, like, I don't know, the economy, the war, health care, or the fact that Israel is swatting flies with sledgehammers again. Because penny ante bullshit like this is NOT what I pay taxes for.
