I have always liked vintage linen and cotton handkerchiefs, but every time I looked at them at antique stores, they ran between $7 and $50 a piece. But today, my friend Linh and I went to the monthly Tulsa Flea Market at the fair grounds, and I found a whole stack of them in the last stall we visited, priced between 50 and 75 cents each. I ended up buying seven or so, with a combination of drawn work, tatting, and applique. They are currently soaking in a vinegar water solution to clean them, then I will hand wash them in wool-lite and lay them out to dry.
I am very very excited...
